Top Builds from the 2025 NSRA Street Rod Nationals Builder’s Showcase
A look at the Street rods that turned it up to eleven
Inside the Hall: The Builder’s Showcase
Out on the grounds, rows of street rods and customs shine bright, but if you want to see the top-tier builds—the rides that make seasoned builders stop and stare—you head inside to the Builder’s Showcase.
Each vehicle in this special display is handpicked and roped off (for good reason). These aren’t just nice cars; they’re statements. Built by some of the most talented fabricators, painters, and craftsmen in the industry, the Showcase rides are where imagination meets execution.
Custom Craftsmanship on a Whole Different Level
These builds go way beyond bolt-ons and catalog parts. We’re talking one-off bodywork, scratch-built frames, hidden wiring, machined hardware, and finishes so clean it’s borderline disrespectful to even breathe near them. Whether it’s a slammed Chevy with tucked bumpers and milled suspension parts, or a classic Ford with more subtle mods than you’ll catch on the first (or fifth) glance, each one is a deep dive in craftsmanship.
The 2025 Builder’s Showcase wasn’t just a collection of nice cars—it was a master class in vision and execution. From the stance to the stitching, every inch of these rides had been obsessed over, dialed in, and built to turn heads and drop jaws.
Here’s a Look at What Stole the Spotlight
Ready to see what made the cut? These are a few of the standouts from the 2025 Builder’s Showcase that had people circling back for a second—and third—look.
1930 Ford Model A
Owner: Brian Dubois
Builder: Old Skool Speed Shop
Old Skool Speed Shop’s ’30 Model A is a knockout blend of raw vintage badassery and precision craftsmanship. The original Henry Ford body is slammed with a sharp 4-inch chop, a sleek filled roof topped with a Walden insert, and a molded visor that screams custom cool—all locked onto a bulletproof Pete & Jake’s ’32 frame. Under the hood, a ferocious 450hp Blueprint 383 stroker snarls through a Holley 3×2 EFI setup and a stout Brandon’s 700R4, delivering brutal, seamless power. When it’s time to slow down, a Ford 9-inch rear with Wilwood discs and a Super Bell dropped axle bring serious stopping muscle, perfectly balancing vintage style with modern bite.
This ride rolls hard on classic Wheelsmith 1940 Ford wheels wrapped in Firestone rubber, commanding attention from every angle. Inside, the custom Ron Mangus leather interior, Classic Instruments gauges, and Ididit steering column with a Limeworks wheel lock in a cockpit built for control and swagger. Gleaming Sherms plating shines on the Brookeville ’32 grille shell, Edelbrock valve covers, and original Model A headlights, while killer details like ’50 Pontiac taillights, Lucky’s Speed air scoops, and a Tanks Inc. fuel tank crank the heritage vibe to eleven. This isn’t just a hot rod—it’s a full-throttle statement of power, style, and flawless craftsmanship that owns every road it hits.
1932 Ford Roadster Pickup “Ella Gante”
Owner: Ella Selbert
Builder: Johnsons Hot Rod Shop
Fresh from Johnsons Hot Rod Shop, the team behind the award-winning “GMP” Roadster, comes the sleek and rowdy 1932 Ford Roadster Pickup “Ella Gante.” Built for Ella Selbert, this open-air hauler blends classic style with modern execution, featuring clean lines, rich finishes, and serious hidden performance.
Power comes from a stout 400ci Chevy small-block by Automotive Specialists Racing Engines, paired with a smooth-shifting 4L60E automatic transmission from Bowler Performance Transmissions. Finished with a deep custom Axalta Automotive Refinish sprayed in-house and topped with mirror polish from John Wright’s Custom Plating in Ohio, this build nails flawless craftsmanship.
Built with their signature precision, “Ella Gante” balances classic hot rod attitude with coach-built polish. This isn’t just a truck—it’s a rolling vibe that blends elegance and raw edge with every mile.
1934 Ford 3-window Coupe
Owner: Robin Callier
Builder: CaNe Customs
Robin Collier’s chopped 1934 Ford coupe is a showstopper at this year’s Builder’s Showcase — a perfect fusion of traditional hot rod craftsmanship and modern precision. The original steel body got a sharp 5-inch chop from Sam Rambo before landing at CaNe Customs for meticulous metalwork, including hand-formed louvers, a custom firewall, and hand-crafted floors. Sitting on a boxed original frame with a drilled 4-inch dropped Dago axle, Winters quick-change rearend, and wrapped in vintage-correct Firestone bias ply tires, this coupe rides smooth while proudly wearing its classic roots.
Under the hood, a polished 239ci Flathead engine unleashes power through a polished Champion supercharger fed by dual Stromberg 97 carbs, topped with gleaming aluminum Navarro heads and a Vertex magneto firing the mix. A buttery-smooth T5 five-speed transmission with overdrive lets this coupe cruise with confidence and style. Finished in stunning pearl blue Sikkens paint, dressed in mocha Relicate leather upholstery, and accented with a custom burled woodgrain dash and translucent blue steering wheel, this build nails the perfect balance between old-school soul and next-level detail.

The stance is nailed, the proportions are perfect, and the paint? Absolutely flawless. But the real “chef’s kiss” comes inside—interior accents pulled straight from the body color tie everything together in pure artistry.

Builder: Kennedy’s Hot Rod Shop

Riding on an AME GT Sport Tri-Five chassis and powered by a modern LS engine, this Tri-Five Chevy blends vintage lines with performance underpinnings. Tucked bumpers, clean trim, and a subtle green-gray paint pair flawlessly with redline tires and just the right touch of chrome.
Inside, Pro Auto Interiors created a cabin that’s equal parts classic and contemporary—Lexus bucket seats, a full-length console, molded rear seats, and LED accents add modern luxury. Red and gray leather with contrast stitching ties it all together, complemented by a gray convertible top that echoes the body color. Even the trunk follows the theme with a soft check-pattern finish. Fresh off wins at Goodguys Nashville and the Tri-Five Nationals, this custom ’57 convertible is a masterclass in restraint, refinement, and cool.
1958 Porsche 356A Cabriolet
Owners: Bob & Theresa Melhorn
Restoration Shop: Floyds Knobs Body Repair, Inc.
You don’t usually expect to find a Porsche at an NSRA event, but this 1958 Porsche 356 A 1600 Super was turning heads for all the right reasons. Restored to concours-level perfection, this Meissen Blue beauty with a red leather interior looked sharper than the day it rolled out of Stuttgart. With just 75 PS from its air-cooled flat-four engine, it’s no powerhouse by modern standards—but it’s a masterclass in early European sports car engineering.
From the iconic teardrop taillights to the curved panoramic windshield, every detail screams mid-century precision. Rooted in a legacy of performance and design, and with strong American ties through the Speedster craze, this factory-spec gem was a refreshing slice of vintage Porsche culture among a sea of hot rods.

1961 Ford Uni-body Pickup
Owner: John Lamb
Builder: Tin Man’s Garage
What started as a nostalgic cruise night sighting turned into a decade-long passion project for John Lamb and his son Jeff, culminating in one of the most radically detailed ’61 Ford Unibody pickups ever seen. Fabrication and design led by Brian Limberg of Tin Man’s Garage crafted a one-off Unibody riding on a heavily reworked chassis with Fatman IFS, No Limit four-link rear, and Wilwood brakes—all wrapped around a hand-fabricated body that’s been smoothed, shaved, and sharpened like a custom-car scalpel. The exterior shines in flawless Mercedes Mountain Gray Metallic, applied by Adam Krause of The Refinery.
Under the hood? Absolutely outrageous. John dropped in a bored-to-420ci Ford Triton V10 topped with twin 55mm turbos—a rare powerplant dressed to supercar levels. The engine bay is a masterpiece with custom-fabbed valve covers, integrated intercooler plumbing, flush-mounted panels, and a one-off air foil grille painted Porsche Carbon Grau Metallic. Engine management runs through Haltech EFI, with all electronics stealth-mounted behind the seat alongside dual 6V batteries.
Inside, the factory dash was cleaned up, fitted with Classic Instruments, and painted to match the satin Maserati Rame interior. Schober’s Custom Hot Rod Interiors wrapped maroon leather, suede, and gray plaid into a rich, tactile cabin. From the reworked bench seat to the flush tonneau cover, every inch is refined, reshaped, and reimagined. A finalist for the Goodguys 2024 Dakota Digital Truck of the Year Late, this Unibody doesn’t just stand out—it stuns.
What do you get when you mix British elegance with American attitude? Brian Gantley’s jaw-dropping 1961 Rolls Royce Silver Cloud II, built by Nobody Customs in Louisiana, is a one-of-a-kind restomod tribute to his British-born wife and hot rod culture—with a serious twist under the hood.
Once a rat-infested barn find, this beauty now rides on a custom Art Morrison chassis with Ridetech air suspension, Wilwood disc brakes, and 20-inch Detroit Steel wheels wrapped in Continental rubber. Power comes from a brawny 6.2L Chevrolet Performance LS3 cranking out 650 horsepower thanks to a Holley Sniper EFI setup, custom headers, and a Magnaflow exhaust. A GM Performance 6L80E automatic transmission sends power to a Currie 9-inch rearend with 3.73 gears.
The original Rolls Royce body was meticulously restored—factory lead removed, seams re-welded and smoothed, and wheel wells refined. Finished in flawless PPG Vibrance Brown Sugar and Cool Vanilla paint, this car commands attention with its classic yet fresh look.
Inside, the handcrafted cabin balances vintage luxury and modern comfort. Burlwood inlays, custom Classic Instruments gauges, and a Flaming River tilt column with a wood-rimmed steering wheel add classic charm. The seats are wrapped in rich Rolls Royce leather by Colonel’s Custom Upholstery, with memory foam for comfort. Dual air-conditioning and stereo systems front and rear complete the package.
This LS-powered Rolls Royce restomod proves Nobody Customs blends elegance, power, and bespoke craftsmanship like no other.

Wearing a deep metallic red finish and sitting low with perfect stance, the truck pairs its aggressive exterior with a warm, custom saddle tan interior that brings comfort and class in equal measure. 1968 Camaro RS Z/28 “Red Hott”
Owners: Mike and Karen McNeil
Builder: Anderson Custom Auto
Some Camaros just hit harder—and this one doesn’t miss a beat. Mike and Karen McNeil’s Red Hot 1968 Camaro RS Z/28 is a sharp-edged muscle machine built with equal parts power, polish, and pedigree. The crew at Anderson Custom Auto in Austin, Indiana, brought this one to life, and it’s making waves from Louisville to the Street Rod Nationals.
Under the hood is a 383ci stroker with a Lunati solid roller cam and DART Pro One heads, backed by a rock-crushing AutoGear 4-speed and a Moser 12-bolt posi with 3.73s. Wilwood brakes and a full Global West suspension setup keep the power planted, while B/G RodWorks Old School wheels give it the right stance. 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Convertible
Owner: Kevin Cole
Builder: Riveting Rides Hot Rods
Kevin Cole’s drop-top 1969 Chevrolet Camaro is a modern muscle masterpiece, built by the talented team at Riveting Rides in Milan, Tennessee. Finished in stunning blue paint with bold white racing stripes, this convertible brings attitude from every angle—especially with a Whipple-supercharged LS rumbling under the hood.
Flawless bodywork, killer paint, and serious horsepower define this beautifully executed restomod. From the same crew behind last year’s award-winning 1959 Chevy Impala, this ’69 is pure Camaro perfection—and it’s ready to drop the top and lay down the law.
1969 Dodge Charger “General Lee”
Owner/Builder: Chad Rennecker of Western Collision Center
If the Dukes had handed Cooter a blank check, this is the version of the General Lee he would’ve built. Chad Renker’s Pro-Touring powerhouse blends vintage muscle with modern muscle-car precision—pro-touring all the way. Built to turn heads at the 56th Annual Street Rod Nationals Builder’s Showcase, this ride isn’t chasing originality—it’s chasing perfection.
Up front, a custom push guard hugs the bumper and hood contours without hiding that beautiful grille—proof that function and style can live side by side. Under the hood, a Gen III HEMI delivers modern Mopar muscle, backed by a 4L80E automatic transmission for highway-friendly cruising and tire-frying torque on demand. The aggressive stance, dialed in with a custom suspension, gives it that planted, ready-to-run look every pro-touring car should have.
Inside, every inch flows. A custom headliner inspired the car’s interior theme, while a redesigned trunk now matches the vision perfectly. A one-off Switch Pro console lid controls the tech, which includes CarPlay, GPS, a reverse camera, and full phone connectivity—modern convenience wrapped in a classic shell.
This isn’t just a car—it’s a statement on how far you can push pro-touring without losing the soul of the original shape. It’s got all the attitude you’d expect, but now with sleek finishes, upgraded power, and show-quality detail from nose to tail. Let’s just say Uncle Jesse would be grinning ear to ear.
1971 Chevrolet C10 Heavy Half-Ton
Owner: Steven King
Builder: AnD Hot Rod Shop
Some trucks carry more than just cargo—they carry legacy. This 1971 Chevrolet C10 Heavy Half-Ton, owned by Steven King (no, not that one) of Eagle Rock, Virginia, is a lovingly restored tribute to three generations of King family history. Originally purchased brand new by N.F. “Preacher” King in early ’71 from Eagle Rock Garage, it served as his faithful workhorse for decades, logging miles and memories in equal measure.
Under the hood, the original 250ci inline-six still hums along, paired with a classic three-on-the-tree manual transmission. The factory Dark Yellow and White paint scheme returns in all its glory—only now it gleams with the kind of depth and finish you can only get from a careful, respectful restoration. AnD Hot Rod Shop kept the look authentic but slipped in modern comforts like A/C, power steering, and power disc brakes, making it just as pleasant to drive as it is to admire.
Every detail tells a chapter of the King family story—from the Delco AM radio installed by Joe King decades ago, to the dedication honoring the family’s enduring connection to the truck. This isn’t just a pickup—it’s a rolling memorial, rebuilt with equal parts heart, heritage, and horsepower of the sentimental kind.
1972 Chevrolet Camaro “Slammer”
Owner: Steve Kurtzman
Builder: Garret’s Rod Shop
Some cars don’t just get rebuilt—they get reimagined for a new era. This 1972 Chevrolet Camaro is pro-touring perfection, where classic second-gen swagger collides head-on with modern performance. Dressed in deep, mirror-gloss black with gold striping and matching wheels, it doesn’t just turn heads—it stops them in their tracks.
Beneath the hood, a supercharged LT4 pumps out serious, pavement-twisting horsepower, paired with a modern chassis and high-performance suspension that keep it glued through the corners. Massive brakes stand ready to tame the speed, making this Camaro as lethal in the twisties as it is in a straight-line sprint.
Inside, the black-and-tan leather interior is a masterclass in custom craftsmanship—meticulous stitching, driver-focused ergonomics, and a layout that blends comfort with all-business performance. It’s the kind of car you could park on a show floor, then drive home like you mean it. This Camaro isn’t just a build—it’s a full-bore street machine with a license to thrill.
