CHILL OUT
Be Cool is no newcomer to cooling heavy metal. For years it has provided cooling solutions for some of the most impressive high-performance engines to rumble down the streets and dragstrips of America. The folks at Be Cool understand that having the proper cooling components in any car or truck is vital to keep an engine safely within its operating temperature range. They also understand that to make cooling and installation easier, they had to design a full bolt-in system, a system that would fit hundreds of applications for classic cars and trucks, as well as more modern vehicles that also need cooling help.

Slippery Sedan
Greg Harris has been a car enthusiast for years and has built a number of muscle machines and classic trucks. He has had loads of fun with late-model cars, but he couldn’t shake the fact that he really had the yearning to build a street rod some day. His friends knew about his longtime goal, so when one of them found a partially completed early sedan for sale, he told Harris about the car. Harris went to take a look, and as it turned out, the car was a half-finished all-steel ’33 Ford two-door sedan powered by a 427 Chevy engine. He immediately knew he had to buy the sedan—it was just what he was looking for. He made a deal with Clark and Bridgett Short, the folks who started the project, and brought the ’33 home.

Cooler Runnin’
All summer you’ve dreamed of passing all those boats that have blown by you since June. Now that time has come. You plunk down a large stack of greenbacks for a nasty supercharger and wrench all weekend bolting it in. Now comes the moment of truth. As you tear down the lake, all eyes are on the gauges, and the oil pressure is heading south too quickly. What could be wrong? You let off the throttle for a bit and all the vital signs return to normal.
We’ve ran into this exact scenario before. We installed an R-Tech Supercooler on the ProCharged Dorr’s Marine Engine 502cid motor in our Baja 250ES. The install was a huge success with a whopping 9mph increase in top speed. The boat worked well, but what we weren’t expecting was the huge increase in oil temperature from the gain in horsepower. If we had stayed on the throttle for a good 5,000-plus-rpm run, the oil temperature would have shot for the moon and oil pressure would have dropped to an uncomfortable level, forcing us to back out—what fun is that?

A Look Back at the Holley LS Fest West 2024 Autocross Event

Alright, let’s take look back at the Holley LS Fest West 2024 Autocross event at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. It was a wild ride, with LS-powered machines tearing up the asphalt, from vintage muscle to modern speed demons, all vying for glory in a whirlwind of horsepower and adrenaline.
Picture the Autocross course, a twisted maze of hairpin turns and flat-out straights that tested the mettle of even the most seasoned drivers. It was like a rollercoaster ride from hades, with cones as the only guide and the sound of screeching tires as the soundtrack.
But it wasn’t just about crossing the finish line first. No, this was a celebration of all things LS, from the engineering marvels under the hood to the sheer passion of the drivers behind the wheel. It was about pushing boundaries and chasing that perfect run, even if it meant pushing your ride to the brink of destruction.
Amidst the chaos of the automotive battleground, Duke Langley emerged as a true titan, commanding his 2002 Z06 Corvette with the finesse and ferocity of a seasoned warrior. This wasn’t mere driving, my friends; it was a symphony of precision and power, orchestrated by the skilled hands of Duke. With unmatched mastery, he dominated the late-model class, leaving his competitors in the dust. And lo and behold, he not only came out on top in the fiercely contested Autocross event, he won the 3S Challenge, ultimately clinching the Grand Championship.
As the dust settled on another epic showdown, the memories of the 2024 Autocross linger like the smell of burnt rubber in the air. It fueled the dreams of every gearhead and adrenaline junkie out there, reminding them that sometimes, the only way to truly live is to go full throttle and never look back.
Here’s to LS Fest West, may it live on in the hearts of gear heads everywhere, a reminder that the spirit of speed and adrenaline knows no bounds.
