Locked Up
Now that the typical Chevy buildup cars (Novas, Camaros, El Caminos, Chevelles and so forth) are well over 30 years old, most have had several owners and lots of abuse. One important yet often overlooked area during a car’s lifetime is its locks, and by now, most early Chevys have mismatched or missing keys. Some don’t even have any keys or locks when you buy them. If you do find a car that still has its original keys, it is very unusual.

AN UNUSUAL UPGRADE
Tom Lawson was attending the Goodguys West Coast Nationals with his family and friends when a friend of his father-in-law, Bill, also a street rodder, walked up and started talking to everyone in the group.

Bumper to Bumper
Poison Spyder has a reputation for building some of the most extreme crawler rigs out there, and when it comes to advice, Clifton is usually at the top of our list of guys to ask. We were looking for a bumper that would be able to hold up to any rock we could slide into, as well as a well placed winch mount. A good looking bumper would be an added bonus, but we were willing to compromise on that last option. As it turned out, Poison Spyder had recently released their Brawler Bumper for XJ Cherokee’s. Not only did it have everything we were looking for, it’s a lot easier on the eyes than you would think for a hardcore bumper.

A Look Back at the Holley LS Fest West 2024 Autocross Event

Alright, let’s take look back at the Holley LS Fest West 2024 Autocross event at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. It was a wild ride, with LS-powered machines tearing up the asphalt, from vintage muscle to modern speed demons, all vying for glory in a whirlwind of horsepower and adrenaline.
Picture the Autocross course, a twisted maze of hairpin turns and flat-out straights that tested the mettle of even the most seasoned drivers. It was like a rollercoaster ride from hades, with cones as the only guide and the sound of screeching tires as the soundtrack.
But it wasn’t just about crossing the finish line first. No, this was a celebration of all things LS, from the engineering marvels under the hood to the sheer passion of the drivers behind the wheel. It was about pushing boundaries and chasing that perfect run, even if it meant pushing your ride to the brink of destruction.
Amidst the chaos of the automotive battleground, Duke Langley emerged as a true titan, commanding his 2002 Z06 Corvette with the finesse and ferocity of a seasoned warrior. This wasn’t mere driving, my friends; it was a symphony of precision and power, orchestrated by the skilled hands of Duke. With unmatched mastery, he dominated the late-model class, leaving his competitors in the dust. And lo and behold, he not only came out on top in the fiercely contested Autocross event, he won the 3S Challenge, ultimately clinching the Grand Championship.
As the dust settled on another epic showdown, the memories of the 2024 Autocross linger like the smell of burnt rubber in the air. It fueled the dreams of every gearhead and adrenaline junkie out there, reminding them that sometimes, the only way to truly live is to go full throttle and never look back.
Here’s to LS Fest West, may it live on in the hearts of gear heads everywhere, a reminder that the spirit of speed and adrenaline knows no bounds.
