You can spend serious money on the engine, paint, upholstery and audio system—but if the finished vehicle still rattles, buzzes and sounds like an empty drum, it isn’t really finished.

The Dynamat Xtreme Mega Pak is the company’s largest pack of Dynamat Xtreme, the industry-leading sound-deadening material it introduced in 1989. Perfect for one complete build or multiple smaller projects, the Mega Pak includes nine oversized 24-by-48-inch sheets for a total of 72 square feet of coverage.

Why Choose the Mega Pak?

Smaller kits work for a pair of doors or an isolated trouble spot. The Mega Pak is the choice for builders who want to quiet the entire vehicle while the interior is already apart.

Its large, flat sheets cover floors, trunks and rear decks with fewer pieces and seams. They can also be cut into smaller sections for doors, wheel tubs, speaker locations, curves and recesses.

With 72 square feet on hand, you can plan the complete installation before making the first cut—and avoid running out with half the interior still exposed. It’s also a practical option for professional shops or builders with multiple projects waiting in line.

Other Brands Stink, Literally

Not all sound-deadening materials are created equal—and sometimes you can smell the difference.

Some lower-cost products use asphalt-based compounds that can produce a strong odor, especially when a vehicle sits in the summer heat. Dynamat Xtreme is made from a proprietary butyl rubber with an aluminum constraining layer, giving it serious vibration-control capability without the asphalt smell.

One Dynamat customer explained the difference:

“One of the few sound dampening sheets that uses actual butyl rubber (no stink). It cuts easy and goes on easy using a roller or pressing it into place with a small towel in hand to press into complex curves.”

The customer’s final verdict was even simpler: “No asphalt stink.”

According to Dynamat, Xtreme is heat-tested to 300 degrees Fahrenheit and engineered so it won’t peel, melt or smell throughout the year. That matters when you’re installing up to 72 square feet of material inside an enclosed vehicle.

Make That Sheet Metal Shut Up

Applied directly to automotive sheet metal, Dynamat Xtreme controls the vibration and resonance that create road noise, rattles and booming panels. Dynamat says it can deliver up to a 6-decibel reduction in noise, helping create a quieter, tighter and more substantial-feeling interior.

Treating the floors, doors, rear deck and trunk together attacks noise from multiple directions. Stabilizing the metal around speakers can also produce tighter bass, cleaner music and fewer rattles competing with the stereo.

Best of all, Dynamat Xtreme is 100-percent American-made, giving builders proven performance from a product proudly manufactured in the USA.

Trusted by the Best in the Business

Dynamat isn’t just trusted by weekend builders and audio installers. Some of the most talented names in custom-car building use it in their own creations.

Chip Foose has used Dynamat Xtreme to control vibrations and panel rattles in his builds, while Dave Kindig and the Kindig-it Design team partnered with Dynamat and rely on its products when their award-winning creations require sound deadening.

When builders at that level obsess over every detail—from the body lines and paint to how solidly a door closes—the material hidden beneath the finished interior has to perform. Their trust reinforces what builders have been saying for decades: Dynamat works.

Clean It, Cut It and Roll It

Installation is straightforward. Remove any dirt, grease, oil or loose material, wipe the surface with isopropyl alcohol and let it dry completely. Significant rust should be removed and treated before the area is covered.

Once the metal is clean and dry, cut the Dynamat Xtreme to fit, peel away the backing and roll it firmly into place. A roller handles broad panels, while a small towel or hand pad helps press the flexible material into curves and recessed areas.
