THE PROJECT
When the time comes to begin building a new project, the process can often end up going in a different direction. By the time you are finished, the truck you started with can take on a whole new appearance, as if the French built it. That wasn’t going to happen with Rick Parsons’ project.

CONTROL YOUR CLIMATE
Most enthusiasts drive a newer car or truck for daily transportation, and we would dare say that most of them are equipped with power steering, power brakes and air conditioning. These are conveniences that most people take for granted and enthusiasts believe their street rods should have the same features.

A big Chevy knows how to make an entrance. Long body lines, the right stance, and a clean set of wheels do plenty of talking before you even open the door. Once you slide behind the wheel, though, what’s waiting for you? If the dashboard hasn’t gotten the same attention as the rest of your Impala or Caprice, a fresh set of digital instruments could be the upgrade that brings the whole build together.
That’s where the Intellitronix DP1211 digital dash comes in. Designed for 1977–1990 Chevrolet Impala and Caprice applications with separate gauge pods, it gives you a way to bring some new life to the view from the driver’s seat.
Your Dash Deserves a Little Attention
It’s easy to keep putting off the instruments. Wheels, exhaust, upholstery—there’s always something else you want to tackle first. Meanwhile, you’re still looking at the same old cluster every time you take the car out.
The DP1211 puts speed, RPM, coolant temperature, oil pressure, voltage, and fuel level into digital readouts behind a smoked plexiglass faceplate.
You get a fresh look and the information you want while driving. Checking on the engine during a summer cruise or seeing how much fuel you have before heading out becomes part of a dashboard you actually enjoy using.
Changed Your Tires or Gears? Dial It In
You finally found the wheels and tires you wanted. Maybe you changed the rearend gears or swapped the transmission along the way. Now the speedometer needs to catch up.
The DP1211’s one-button speedometer calibration accommodates those changes. It also includes an odometer, trip meter, high-speed recall, and 0–60 and quarter-mile timers.
Even if your Chevy spends most of its time cruising, getting the speedometer sorted is something you can appreciate on every drive. The extra timing functions are there when you want them.
Pick a Color That Works with Your Car
You’ve probably spent enough time choosing paint, wheels, and upholstery to know that the little details matter. The dash should fit into that picture, too.
Choose orange, blue, green, red, teal, pink, orange, or white illumination to suit your interior. Intellitronix also offers GPS speed input, a quick-connect wiring harness, and an LS swap kit as optional add-ons.
Think about what your car needs now and what you have planned for it. It’s a good time to get the setup right while you’re already working on the dash.
What’s in the Box?
The Intellitronix DP1211 kit includes:
- Direct-fit digital circuit boards.
- Custom-fit smoked plexiglass faceplate.
- Water temperature sender with a standard 1/2-inch adapter bushing.
- Oil pressure sender.
- S9013 speedometer sender.
- Installation instructions.
The system works with a compatible existing GM fuel sender. The bezel is not included.
Take a Look at Your Cluster Before Ordering
Here’s the detail to check: the DP1211 fits separate gauge pods, not sweep-style clusters. Take a look at your dash before placing the order.
Running an LS? Intellitronix specifies its 8014LS swap kit for that application, so include it when planning your setup.
An Upgrade You Get to Enjoy Every Mile
You know that feeling when you finish something on your car and wonder why you waited so long? The dashboard has the potential to be one of those projects. You’re looking at it every time you drive, whether you’re heading to a show or just making a run across town.
With a lifetime factory warranty, the Intellitronix DP1211 gives you another reason to move the gauges up the list. Your Impala or Caprice already makes an impression from the curb. Give the driver’s seat a little of that same attention.
