CLASSIC HOT ROD CRUISER
The pictured F-100 is a 1954 model, and it was purchased by Carl and Marianne Lewis from Milwaukie, Oregon, in 1992. The truck had seen better days, as it had been sitting out in the elements under an awning next to a storage shed. In primer, and with a transplanted 289 small block, the truck was partially disassembled as it sat on four flat tires. It had not been moved for some 10 years. Mel Nichols was hired for the much needed makeover, which took 3-1/2 years to complete.

“I built this Jeep to handle a variety of terrain,” Todd Tice told us. “The coilover five-link rear and three-link front suspension provide excellent articulation for rockcrawling, and it is stable enough for hammering the desert at higher speeds. I wanted the Jeep to be able to handle most off-road challenges and still be able to cruise down the highway. This is an everyday driver,” he added.

Annual Jeep Festival Wraps up with record attendance

In the heart of Daytona Beach, Florida, from April 19th to the 28th, a congregation of Jeep enthusiasts embarked on an epic journey at Jeep Beach 2024. This annual extravaganza shattered previous attendance records, transforming the city into a mecca for all things Jeep.
The festivities kicked off with an electrifying Scavenger Hunt powered by the Goosechase App, leading participants on a quest to uncover hidden gems scattered across the city. Following this, the community’s commitment to environmental stewardship was on full display during a Coastal Cleanup initiative.
Throughout the week, the Parking Lot Party set the stage for the main event, featuring live tunes, delectable delights from local food trucks, and a noble blood donation drive.
A standout moment was the adrenaline-fueled Off-Road Experience at Cracker Ranch, sponsored by the folks at Hankook Tires, offering thrill-seekers the ultimate test for their Jeeps. Meanwhile, Jeeps at the Rock provided a laid-back vibe with activities like sunrise yoga, beachside games, and an epic tug-of-war showdown at the iconic Hard Rock Hotel.
The climax of Jeep Beach 2024 was the 21st Annual Main Event Show at the Daytona International Speedway, where over 200 national Jeep industry vendors showcased cutting-edge innovations and products, igniting the fervor of Jeep aficionados.
Adding to the excitement was the Jeep Beach JBR Music Fest, headlined by the country crooner Lee Brice and reggae legends The Wailers, among other stellar acts. Against the backdrop of pulsating beats and dazzling fireworks, Jeep unveiled its highly anticipated special edition 2024 Wrangler 4xe and Gladiator models, eliciting thunderous applause from the crowd.
As Jeep Beach 2024 came to a close, it was evident that the event embodied a vibrant lifestyle that transcended mere vehicular showcases, forging bonds among individuals from all walks of life. With the echoes of roaring engines and the laughter of newfound comrades lingering in the air, Jeep Beach concluded on a triumphant note, leaving attendees eagerly counting down the days until next year’s escapades.
