GET IT HANDLED
Before the advent of the “smoothie look,” people were slicking down the lines of their cars and trucks in numerous ways, and shaving door handles was one of the more popular mods. Today the trend is to fit later-model door handles rather than no door handles at all. This still provides a simple way to clean up your vehicle with very little effort, yet retains the convenience of manually opening the door. If you have the patience, talent and imagination, you can borrow the parts from a donor car or truck and fit them to your own project, thereby achieving a cool, smooth look that will be unique to your vehicle.

SUBTLE STANDOUT
From the low-key approach applied to this ’55 Chevy, it’s obvious that Jack and Gail Jenkins’ reasons for building it were based around applied craftsmanship, when you take into account the subtle style it displays. While the bodywork and paint are flawless, there’s little sign of the modifications beneath it, or the effort that went into them.

LOWERING A 4WD FORD F-150
The suspension of stock four-wheel-drive vehicles is deliberately set very high to provide improved ground clearance. For years the trend in serious off-roading has been to “lift” the vehicle even higher. The OEs suspend their four-bys high enough to clear rocks, traverse gulleys and fallen trees and most anything else that one might encounter in more serious off-roading. Nevertheless, there are four-by owners who would like to lower their vehicles, as they spend more time on-road than off. Recently we met just such an owner, and we couldn’t resist questioning him about his desire to drop this ’04 Ford F-150 four-by-four.

Unleash the Beast: The Ultimate GM LS1/LS6 Front Sump Road Race and Drift Pan
We here at The Auto Builder understand that when it comes to performance, every component counts. That’s why the Canton Racing Products GM LS1/LS6 Front Sump Road Race and Drift Pan has earned a top spot on our must-have list for anyone serious about leveling up their game.
Specs that Matter
This pan isn’t just another shiny piece of metal to slap onto your engine. This 5-5/8″ deep front sump oil pan is specifically engineered for the LS1 and LS6 engines, targeting enthusiasts who demand top-notch oil control during the most intense driving conditions. Whether you’re tearing up the track at a road race or sliding sideways in a drift competition, this pan ensures that your oil is where it needs to be, when it needs to be there.
Engineering Marvel
What makes it special? For starters, the internal baffling system is a marvel of modern engineering. It’s designed to keep oil close to the pickup, minimizing slosh and maintaining pressure, even under the brutal G-forces of high-speed cornering and drifting. No more worrying about oil starvation when you’re pushing your ride to the limit.
Features Galore
Canton’s team has also integrated a trap door baffle and a built-in windage tray, both of which significantly reduce oil aeration. This means a cooler, more stable oil supply, and ultimately, a longer-lasting engine. The pan also features an included -10AN fitting for your oil return line—it’s these little touches that show Canton Racing Products really understands what serious racers need.
Easy Installation
Installation is a breeze, thanks to the well-thought-out design. The pan fits seamlessly into your existing setup without the need for excessive modifications. It’s compatible with factory and aftermarket LS engine mounts, so you won’t be tearing your hair out in frustration during the install. Just bolt it on and go.
Durability You Can Trust
Of course, performance is the name of the game, but let’s not forget about durability. Built from high-quality materials, this oil pan is made to last, withstanding the harshest conditions and keeping your engine safe from the inside out. It’s the kind of component that pays for itself over time by saving you from costly repairs and maximizing your engine’s lifespan.
