PRODUCT SPOTLIGHT: The Accusump by Canton Racing Products
Here’s the deal: if you’ve got a V-8 or a high-horsepower V-6 or 4-banger and you’re not running an Accusump, you’re gambling with your engine’s life. The 24-006 Accusump 3 Qt No Valve is one of those pieces of gear you slap on and immediately wonder why you didn’t do it sooner. It’s been saving engines—and wallets—for over 30 years. Let’s break it down.

TWO WORLDS CONVERGE
Nick Barron is no stranger to building fine performance vehicles. For more than 40 years, he has been the catalyst in handcrafting some of the finest performance machines around, a clockwork of components powered by nasty big-block Chevy engines and outfitted with the finest in custom appointments. The results of his handiwork have been seen racing on the quarter-mile and in other tortuous events. His vehicles have received many recognized awards for product innovation and consumer excellence. With a reputation for quality workmanship, performance, speed and superior handling, the success of Hallett Boats can be attributed directly to Barron. The boats Hallett has produced over the last four decades have afforded him the opportunity to involve himself in a number of new, exciting adventures. Barron is not only the owner of this new, beautiful Jerry Kugel-created full-fendered ’32 Muroc II roadster, he is also the owner of and innovator behind Hallett Boats, a high-end custom performance boat manufacturer located in Southern California.

A BREATH OF FRESH AIR
After purchasing this ’02 Silverado, the owner was looking to gain some additional horsepower and torque through a few small bolt-on performance parts. While the truck is still under warranty, there is a large variety of performance parts that not only meet certain warranty requirements, but also do not cause any problems at the dealership. After looking at all the available options for this Silverado, it was decided that the first modification to the engine was going to be the addition of a new AEM Brute Force air intake. AEM offers a vast array of dyno-proven intakes for specific applications, including trucks such as this Silverado.

Whether you like it or not, electric vehicles are increasingly becoming a part of our daily lives. Here at the AutoBuilder, we feel the current cost to shift into the electric vehicle (EV) lifestyle is a bit too high for many consumers. If you need comfortable, reliable transportation with a decent amount of tech that’s also easy on gas, a 2024 Toyota Camry is a great candidate, starting at around $26K. A comparable base model EV will cost nearly double that price. That’s a huge obstacle for car owners looking for their next ride. We also have the valid concerns with EV ownership of limited driving range, limited charging infrastructure, and the extra time spent waiting on a vehicle to charge compared to gassing up at the pump.
And don’t get us started talking about the looks of EVs. Somewhere along the line, car designers decided that all eco-friendly hybrids and EVs must look a certain way: rounded off, soul-less, abstract interpretations of vehicles, rich in technology, but devoid of warmth and style. It has to look futuristic and alien to promote the fact that it’s different from your standard gas powered vehicle. One could argue that this EV Style is a sort of postmodern extension of the malaise era of car design.
As more people adopt EVs, the infrastructure problems will work themselves out over time. If only someone would just offer an affordable EV vehicle with exciting, gotta have it styling, they could jump-start the EV revolution and change the whole automotive industry. Cue the Alpha Motor Corporation.
The New AMC
Enter the Alpha Motor Corporation. Alpha appears to be a rising star in the electric vehicle industry, focused on creating stylish and eco-friendly vehicles. Founded on innovation and sustainability, their goal is to change the way we think about transportation. They design and manufacture EVs that we think not only look great and perform well, while minimizing environmental impact. Alpha wants to make electric vehicles more accessible and appealing to everyone, aiming to lead the charge towards a cleaner, greener future. They’re constantly working to improve EV technology, striving to make electric transportation the norm for generations to come.
Alpha is currently in the stages of research and pre-production. Their website shows off many promising concepts of vehicles that we want to see on the roads. There’s several coupe, sedan, and even station wagon concepts that offer the excitement of classic European sportscar styling. Here at the AutoBuilder, we the Rex SUV offers a modern take on the classic styling of a first generation Bronco or Toyota Land Cruiser. The design team at the Alpha Motor Corporation has made a habit of distilling some of the finest elements of classic automotive design into a modern formula for visual success in each of their offerings. There’s a lot of promise here, but unlike many EV companies, they have they have built a fully functional test vehicle.
A WOLF in Sheep’s Clothing

In fact, Alpha recently hosted a successful ride-along event to show off its WOLF Electric Truck in Southern California. The styling is on point. The WOLF looks the part with rugged styling and classic proportions reminiscent of the great square bodied pickups of the 70s and 80s. This WOLF comes equipped with an array of upgrades, including the rugged Black Rhino Primm Beadlock wheels and high-intensity lighting solutions from Morimoto. This WOLF looks tough and capable of keeping up with the petrol-powered off-road crowd.
Participants experienced the truck’s impressive performance, navigating turns and reaching high speeds all while using only 20% of its battery capacity over an eight hour period. Alpha plans to hold more events like this to make sure they’re making electric vehicles that people really like, and they’re committed to giving people what they want.
